The
Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce plays
a significant role in the growth, business climate
and economy of our area. Martin is one of the
fastest growing counties in the state and the
programs and activities of the Chamber are vital
to that growth. The Chamber is proud of the benefits
and services provided to its 1,500 plus members.
The chamber's services range from providing
maps and information for visitors, demographics
and statistics for potential new and existing
businesses. The Chamber was appointed Film Liaison
Office and certified Camera Ready by the Florida
Dept. of commerce in 1990. The responsibility
of the office was turned over to the County in
2000.
The chamber actively recruits members to serve
on its committees. They include State, Local and
National Governmental Affairs, Tourism, Community
Improvement, Marine Resources, Ambassador, Transportation,
Small Business and Finance. The Education Committee
was honored by the Florida Dept. of Education
for its "Mentor Program" in 1991 &
1992. We were awarded "Florida's Best"
by the Florida Chamber of Commerce for our Business
& Education Partnerships in 2003 for our Job
Tap program. Whether appearing before the City
or County Commissioners or lobbying the State
Legislative Delegation, Congress or our U. S.
Senators on issues affecting business, or providing
scholarships for local students, those volunteers
involve the Chamber in all aspects of community
life. LEADERship Martin County, a program that
gives participant members the opportunity to learn
about their country Martin County and how it works,
has been providing provides new leadership for
our communities.
The Stuart/Martin County Chamber of Commerce
is a member of the countywide Council of Chambers,
an organization consisting of the five county
Chambers of Commerce, which was formed to discuss
common issues and provide unified effort in speaking
out and representing the business interests of
the area. The Chamber works closely with the Economic
Council of Martin County and is a member of the
Business Development Board of Martin County, which
seeks out potential business and industrial prospects
and assists in efforts to locate them here. Throughout

organizations that help create the unparalleled
