When it comes to what attracts most people to Florida, Martin County offers its visitors and residents alike some of the finest beaches on the east coast. Officials and residents have worked hand-in-hand to assure access to the Atlantic Ocean, various river parks and Lake Okeechobee as another way to "Enjoy Our Good Nature".

Martin County's natural resources really begin at its coastline. You can enjoy this natural scene with a walk on the beach, hunting for shells during a day of "fun in the sun," taking advantage of the waves, windsurfing at a local causeway or watching for large, lumbering sea turtles crawling ashore to lay their eggs in the sand. Kick off your shoes and let the sand sift between your toes, or wet a line for some of the best surf, river and lake fishin` in the state.

The county's beaches include individual access strips that allow for more private spots to enjoy the surf and sand or larger, guard-protected areas like Stuart Beach, Hobe Sound Beach and Sea Turtle / Jensen Beach.
The Bathtub Beach is a special spot for young families where small children can enjoy the surf with the protection of a reef that creates a wading pool adjacent to the beach. Martin County has rules and regulations for its beaches and you can pick up a brochure at the Chamber to keep you up-to-date on local beach facts. The following areas are available for your "fun in the sun."

Phipps Park, located along the Okeechobee Waterway, is a 55-acre conservation and campground area. The campground is near the Florida Turnpike and is easily accessible via Interstate 95. Martin County's beautiful Beaches are a short drive from the campsite, as are various shopping destinations. Other nearby attractions include Disney World, the Kennedy Space Center and the Florida Everglades.

The Park's close proximity to the St. Lucie Locks provides fishermen with an opportunity to enjoy fresh and/or saltwater fishing. Campers also appreciate the waterfront view that many of our sites provide. Our rates for campsites with electric & water are $18.00 plus tax for Martin County residents, and $21.00 plus tax for non-residents. Primitive campsites are $13.00 plus tax for Martin residents and $16.00 plus tax for non-residents. We would like to welcome our guests and hope you have an enjoyable visit.
